Overview
My name is Kristen Munson and I am a passionate social media consultant who thrives on teaching business professionals and organizations how to use the tools of the online social Web, including blogs, podcasts, RSS readers, wikis, presence applications, and social networks.
How do I do that?
Blogging:
I have been publishing Social Media Mom Blog since December 07. The site is a mix of practical advice for using
social media, commentary on the goings-on in other PR and marketing
blogs and podcasts, and reflections from in-person networking
events/conferences that I attend.
I am also one of the founders of a total home site called Shakadoo. This site launched in February of 2007 and has 8 established blogs each pertaining to an aspect of the home. I was one of the owners and the Social Media Manager of Shak Media for over a year. I was able to grow the site to 50,000 page views per month in a four month period of time, generate a substantial amount of ad revenue, and connect with some of the biggest names in the home market. Such as, Jonathan Adler, AT&T, Gymboree, Zutano, Ryobi, Liquid Fence Company, and many more.
Multimedia
I have also had the experience of working with Flektor, a multimedia site, owned by Fox Interactive Media, using photo sharing sites like Flickr, and video sharing sites like YouTube. These multimedia tools are highly utilized in the social media realm and can be embedded and used in most blogs.
Consulting
I have several clients that hire me to teach blogger basic training, networking, advertising, and collaboration.
Community Member
A big part of the magic of social media happens when online conversations turn in to face to face meetings, that is why I am a member of Social Media Club of St. Louis. I am also a top ranked community member on several social networking sites such as, StumbleUpon, Digg, Mixx, and Sphinn. I actively participate on sites like Facebook, del.icio.us, and Twitter.
